General information about School Lunches at Lower Kersal

Food served at Lower Kersal must meet the school food standards so that children have healthy, balanced diets.  These school food standards apply to all maintained schools and academies that were founded before 2010 and after June 2014.

 

Our school must provide:

 

High-quality meat, poultry or oily fish

fruit and vegetables

bread, other cereals and potatoes

 

There can't be:

Fizzy drinks, crisps, chocolate or sweets in school meals

More than 2 portions of deep fired, battered or breaded food a week.

Our School Lunches are provided by CITYWIDE

Meals must be paid for in advance and we strongly necourage you do do this via Parent Pay.  If you think you may be eligible for free school meals please telephone 0161 909 6508.

 

From September 2014 all pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2 in our school are offered a free school meal under the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme. 

 

Our school kitchen used School Grid - pupils and parents are able to order their meals on the website, checking ingredients and nutritional information.
